P2P Vorspiel is a pre-festival weekend of distributed partner events preceding the opening of transmediale 2013 BWPWAP – Back When Pluto Was a Planet and CTM.13 – THE GOLDEN AGE through a dissemination of projects including exhibition openings, workshops, talks, performances and parties outside the main venues of either festival.

P2P Vorspiel is a pre-festival weekend of distributed partner events preceding the opening of transmediale 2013 BWPWAP – Back When Pluto Was a Planet and CTM.13 – THE GOLDEN AGE through a dissemination of projects including exhibition openings, workshops, talks, performances and parties outside the main venues of either festival.
 
P2P Vorspiel takes place on the weekend from Friday 25 – Sunday 27, 2013. It aims at promoting digital and post-digital culture among independent organisations, project spaces, galleries, and other venues across Berlin as well as strengthening the network among such actors. P2P Vorspiel works toward the creation of a shared knowledge laboratory within the festivals and a project of visibility for local and translocal distributed networks.
 
Take this chance to experience some of Berlin's best experimental arts, music and sound in this unique pre-festival weekend!

SUPERMARKT begins its three-day Vorspiel programme with a free 'Trash' Workshop by Kulturlabor Trial&Error. The workshop focuses on upcycling and creative uses of community waste, with a moderated Trash-Awareness-Walk, a presentation on various methods to creatively transform waste to useful objects, and ideas for continuing upcycling in the Wedding community. L’Age d’Or (en: The golden age) points to a time of balance, harmony and joy. It is a time you are having now or you have had or that you will have, but definitely it is linked to a certain object let it be physical, metaphorical, or pure abstraction or desire. The invited artists are dealing with their Golden Age, whatever this might be. The exhibition includes existing works, artefacts, documents and reflexions: short: memorabilia.

Prototype: Exhibition in the Cloud is an interdisciplinary collaboration between Parsons The New School for Design and Berlin University of the Arts (UdK), which seeks to challenge and reinvent received notions of prototyping and encompass artistic imagination. The Point of Perception, produced by Madi Boyd in collaboration with neuro-scientist at UCL, explores how much information the human brain needs in order to know what it is looking at. Here the project will be a further developed with the addition of sound and colour. Carrie C Firman is an emerging electronic artist whose work is inspired by studying and experiencing the crossing of senses. She sees synaesthesia not only as a sensory phenomenon, but also a fantastic world interface, responsible for completely unique perceptual experiences.

Several multi-medial music performances with film and visual, in the Gallery Mario Mazzoli. This event "As a Frame -Music Performances with Visual/Silent-Film - " is a platform for experimental contemporary music with visual/film factor. In the 1st block, 3 contemporary silent-films are shown with the real-time music performances. In the 2nd block, electronic sound&visual by Junichi Akagawa. Their performance reacts to the film, or the visual reacts to their sounds.  The visual and sound factor are going to be observed as "a frame". The night comes as a double program. In the old dartsroom of Das Gift participants can solder their own music device: a Quäkmonster as designed by KOMA Elektronik’s head of production Felix Obeè. It is a minimalistic theremin circuit inside a stuffed animal/monster that makes the little fella squeak and scream when you press its belly/bum/head. Meanwhile in the main room electroacoustic composer Richard Scott (UK) and Electronicpresskit (USA) will perform with their analog devices and synthesizers. Geek out!

In the exhibition we will deal with the physical perception of the digital. The presentation of data is limited to auditory and visual media, the digital is created mostly in combination with only a two-dimensional and thus limited "(Ab) image" (german Abbild). This type of reception is studied - we would like to open and extend the reception dimension of digital and virtual content.
