Postcards from the Metaverse speculates on the value of the popular 20th century medium – the postcard – in providing accessible and underrepresented perspectives on a newly- hyped infrastructure

Former transmediale artistic director Kristoffer Gansing applies a bit of home-grown numerology to reminisce about the secrets of Vorspiel!

The reSource network has been an extremely valuable resource in the process of establishing and running SPEKTRUM Berlin. It allowed us to connect with like-minded people in the city, to start up new collaborations, and to learn from those facing similar issues in running project spaces.

The essay summarizes the Czech-Brazilian cultural theorist and media philosopher Vilém Flusser’s ideas on the apparatus, codes, and programmed and manipulated society. He ends his texts by highlighting the importance of artists who might be able to play with and against the apparatus and challenge mass media and their preprogrammed functions.

From 2011 to 2014, Tatiana Bazzichelli and a team of others designed a sprawling event program called “reSource transmedial culture Berlin,” which picked up on transmediale-related projects and flung them far further.

Since 2013 designtransfer – the gallery and communicates interface of the Faculty of Design, Berlin University of the Arts (UdK Berlin) and the public – participates yearly at Vorspiel to present various projects as exhibitions, installations, and talks related to their New Media & Design courses.

Location, Location, Location - Künstler Künstlerin x Vorspiel, 2022

20:30 –

2G+ 5 Euros

We are super proud to introduce our first feature event of the year in collaboration with Vorspiel, 2022's program.

Location, Location, Location is a show that discusses various realities through various means and mediums. We are excited to present four artists who will present extended sets.

Lightbush Lightbush is a poetry and synthesized music project of Magdalena J. Härtelova and John Broback. Their performances are an improvised collage of spoken word, live electronic music and interaction with the audience and space. Magda's poems combine intimate loopy lyricism, space futurism, and demonstration chants vibes. John's sparkling synthesized melodies lay in satisfyingly deep bass that just makes your chest ache a little. Listen to lightbush at: lightbush.bandcamp.com

Juni Juni, 20 (they/them) is a poet and new media artist based in Leipzig and Berlin, they write poetry in English and German, born out of a abstract diary like, stream of consciousness, they also work with and combine their writing with various other mediums like performance, film and Installation.

Francis Kussatz Francis Kussatz (*1996 in Titisee-Neustadt, Schwarzwald) works with fragments from the fields of performance, photography, video, prose texts, installations and music. In this process, these elements continually reassemble, at times by merging, at others by separating. By creating different persona(s), Francis questions existing gender constructs and other thematic issues, such as economic freedom and the limitations of illness in a system or systems that only certain groups of people think with. In 2018, Alexander Klaubert and Francis Kussatz founded the artist collective Law of Life (LoL).

Annita Sleep Annita Sleep (b. 2021) is a performer specializing in the lethargic and tiresome. Her performances gauge from a sense of rest and swallow. Prior to the inspirations of drag queendom over the years, she instead aims to align to a more natural performance for her, sleep, melancholia and exercising past memory to demonstrate how humane it is to be human, past, present and the zukuft, et al and etc. She was coined in 2021 and this will be her first ever performance.

We adhere to recent Corona safety regulations (2G+) and require a vaccination pass or proof of recovery AND a same day negative test for entry to the event. We will be having a door policy to ensure everyone attending the venue is tested and vaccinated or recovered.

We want events to continue and this is the only way we can ensure their continuation safely and responsibly for everyone. IF the bar gets busy we will ask everyone to wear a mask to remain as safe as possible.

You can register your attendance via the link in the event page. The maximum capacity of the venue is 40 people so please do register so we know how many people will be coming.

The entry fee is 5 euros and this goes to the performers and the documentation team and covers any organization expenses.

We hope to see you to see you there and tell your friends!

Register with the link at the top of the page.
