“The Routes to Roots Networks and Beyond” meetings provide a discussion about the transdisciplinary, artistic and scientific project “Rhizosphere: The Big Network of Small Worlds”. We will talk about the project’s origins, elements and ongoing development, that include both scientific and artistic research & exploration, while presenting a selection of the multimedia artistic projects inspired by or referring to the life-abundant, plant root zone. We are looking into the root systems and the communication of the rhizosphere actors in order to explore new ways towards democratization of resources, information and knowledge. Several years of constantly growing cooperation between scientists and artists from various institutions carries a huge creative and educational potential. The Rhizosphere network creates new communication bridges, teaching us how to use the “wisdom of the roots” in order to improve the quality of our life, wisely walk towards the world we want to live in and become, who we want to be. I 11.02.2021 @ 18:00 – the first meeting titled “The Routes to Roots Networks and Beyond” will provide an open conversation about the inspiration, significance and development of the “Rhizosphere: The Big Network of Small Worlds” Project. The discussion will be interwoven with the presentation of artistic projects that transfer biological inspirations onto multimedia, immersive narratives – “Rhizone: PapiLLa” by Joanna Hoffmann with soundscape by Andre Bartetzki and “Rhizome” by Katarzyna Taborowska-Kaszuba.
