We are happy to introduce our new venture with Wechseln. We are proud to bring to you ZWEI, a continuation from our first edition, EINS. We are co-operating with the Vorspiel, 2021 program beginning on the 15th January, 2021. I ZWEI’s theme this year is “who’s out there?”. The theme derived from the worldwide sensation of isolation due to the pandemic. The first lock down opened up questions which we are now having to address now, as it continues to affect our lives in an impactful way. To ensure we are all okay, heard and generally open for dialogue, the project is an attempt to revive human contact. The project revolves around two artist / collectives whom are responding as the feature artists. They are Cru Encarnação and Selma Lindgren with the collaboration and facilitation of Arantxa Ciafrino and Alexander Norton. + Cru Encarnação (they/them or he/him) is a performance artist, writer and translator born in Lisbon and based in Berlin. They have studied Philosophy and Comparative Literature at Freie Universität Berlin. + Selma Lindgren, (she/her) born 1997 in Berlin grew up in Norway and is currently studying Scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna. She is interested in working with found material, exploring its performative agency and finding meeting points between theatre and fine arts. + Arantxa Ciafrino (she/her) founded and runs Wechseln, a project founded in Madrid and brought to Berlin. The project has focused on video, sound art and performance. + Alexander Norton (she/her) founded and runs Künstler, Künstlerin, a project founded in Berlin and contains various team members. The platform attempts to provide a structure for artists to make work without failure. II That’s not all, you, the audience are the third component. We are opening a third page for artists, family members and onlookers to give their impressions of their lives. With the theme being so wide open, we wanted to invite everyone, including people outside the community and general people whom find the project interesting to submit. All works submitted will be included (bar offensive material that is obviously there to provoke). It is a completely open platform. All works are published on a long scroll. These three components work together to attempt a reconnect, across the board, utilizing the useful element of online projects - no borders / distance noticeable. We may not be there in person but we’re still here and that means something.
